We are surrounded by AI, it is being included in more things than we know about, but when it comes to how people and their knowledge about the word AI, most of them know AI as Jarvis and the bad one Skynet. That is what comes to peoples mind when they read or hear the term AI. That's all in the fictional world, what about real life? The familiarity of people about AI in the real world is somewhat limited to the automotive industries; the automatic cars, self driven cars, while these are the applications that get the most attention; AI in automotive industry has many other uses. According to a report by the year 2025 a rise of 109% is expected to take in the AI based systems in the vehicles.
There are other trends when it comes to automotive industry. So of them are:

DEEP LEARNING
Let's just start by saying without Deep learning there is no machine learning. It is a process. Deep learning is the reason that keeps AI activities away from the possible problems. Managing tasks is easier with deep learning as it break them down. The software in DL learns and then it starts copying the actions in the neuron layers of the brain. Be it advanced driving assistance systems and autonomous driving the use of DL techniques have been helpful to the industry. The use of DL has brought great advancements even in the service part of automotive industries; the technology DL brings has pushed new limits. Nvidia and Bosch's in partnership are working together to increase the quality and features of autonomous vehicles. While Bosch is working on a super computer that will be used in the vehicles, Nvidia is working on Deep Learning technology that will power it.

MACHINE LEARNING
Being a part of AI, ML tries to copy the way in which humans learn, by repeating the tasks that humans do using the data from the past ML is helping devices think and act like humans. Toyota has gone a step ahead and has brought together Big data, ML and AI to generate highly sensitive autonomous systems that support in the movement for those to help an ageing population mobile and ensure they can still use their cars.

CLOUD COMPUTING
Having the benefits of big data access, analytics and centralized connectivity cloud computing is the perfect platform for staging and deploying AI in the automotive field. Cloud based platforms are being developed by companies to try hard and develop the best automotive technology. GM and IBM are working on cloud based AI platforms to make drivers life easier by
1. Finding the gas station and allowing the driver to pay for their fuel purchase from inside the vehicle.
2. Recognizing nearby restaurants that are related to those revisited by the driver.
3. Providing notes to buy required household items as the driver approaches.

Internet of things
Almost everything that we use today is connected to the internet in one way or other smart phones, smart watches. The electrical components, technology and software will help software development teams and other firms in the same sector to collaborate with other software development teams. This will help IOT devices to mix with the cars. In the coming years IOT will be getting bigger and bigger in this industry. In the future AI and internet of things devices will allow manufacturers to update vehicles with features such as
1. Repair scheduling
2. Predictive maintenance
3. Using smart sensors to identify medical emergencies
4. Identification of performance issues
5. Automobile toll collection

Cognitive Capabilities
In the future all types of vehicles will have the AI capabilities. Things like natural language interpretation pattern identification, cognitive analytics and the ability to build knowledge will give us the way to mine and make sense of the information. Cognitive systems are assumed to work like humans who would interpret a real life situation and in order to do that a deeper knowledge of unstructured data is required. BMW has recently partnered with IBM combine cognitive capabilities to the cars the purpose is to help vehicles interact with each other.

Infotainment systems
A spike in things like eye tracking, gesture recognition, eye tracking, monitoring driving and database of natural languages can be expected in the future. AI develops in vehicle infotainment systems in a better way. There are infotainment human machines interfaces previously connected to vehicles to monitor and operate according to algorithms collected from cloud base neural networks.

Some of the automotive leaders like Tesla and Google are spending millions of dollars in the R&D to come up with better technology and to make autonomous cars hot the road.
