Infosys invests $1.5 mn in Waterline Data Science through Innovation Fund

The second largest software services firm in India, Infosys announced on Thursday that it has made a follow on investment of $1.5 million in Waterline Data Science which is a provider of data governance and data discovery software.


Earlier, Infosys had made an initial investment of $4 million in the company in January 2016.

The present investment has been made through the Infosys Innovation Fund as per their regulatory filing.


This investment is likely to get completed by April 6, 2018 and will be subject to necessary approvals. Waterline data science provides a data inventory and cataloguing solution that enables business analysts and data scientists with data governance and data discovery.


What is Waterline Data Science?

Waterline Data Science, Inc. makes Waterline Data Inventory which is data self-service platform for Hadoop. Their platform discovers intermediate files, sensitive data and data lineage and also enables data stewards to manage tags. They also build inventory of Hadoop Data. Their platform provides business multifaceted search services and metadata and much more. The company was founded in 2013 and is based out of Mountain View, California.
