Chatbots: Boon or Curse?

Artificial intelligence has brought a tremendous revolution to the business world across the years. It is difficult for employees to work monotonously, thereby they do not provide desired results. And, AI has helped in developing the organizational structure in a way that helps to overcome the problem of limited manpower. To overcome the problem, it has developed an alternative i.e. chatbots that incurs less costs and provide better results.

Chatbots are technological machine-learned programs which are used to interact with the customer and improve the overall user experience on the website. Humans have a limit to the number of clients they can handle at once. However, with chatbots, there is no such constraint and they can handle as many queries as required at once.

Chatbots eliminate the requirement of any manpower during online interaction with consumers. Chatbots helps companies to receive multiple queries at once without any turbulence. Chatbots helps in saving on costs while aligning them with their goals and hence presenting consumers with a particular type of interaction which leads to desired results.

AI-based chatbots are capable of learning from past interactions and enhance their efficiency. Due to machine learning and updated algorithms capable of updating themselves, the need for it is less while using a Chatbot. Humans invest time while learning from past interactions and are not as capable as the chatbots for future interactions.

Humans cannot deal with maximum number of clients at once. However, with chatbots, there is no such constraint. Chatbots can handle as many queries as required at once. With chatbots, no customer stays unattended and everyone's problem is being resolved. Developers are trying to come up with new features which can work on voice assisted services and help in guided sales. It is expected to see more advancement in the Chatbot and AI industry.

Chatbots are considered to be complicated and require a lot of time to understand user's requirement. It requires lot of complex processing. Chatbots, sometimes due to poor processing are not able to filter better results in time.

Chatbots are useful programs that help in saving a lot of manpower by ensuring the all-time availability and serving to several clients all at once. Every chatbot needs to be programmed differently for a new business which increases the initial installation cost. This increases time required to prepare for the program and plan everything effectively.

Chatbots is rising popularity and craze among companies and thus, they are bound to stay here for long. Machine learning has changed the way companies were communicating earlier with their customers. With new platforms like chatbots, companies can witness maximum growth of a new dimension in technology. And, we cannot judge whether chatbots are boon or curse, as it has both advantages and disadvantages. It is controversial to conclude that development of chatbots has been a boon or curse.
