Amazon Rentals is a newly launched program that provides an easy to use service for Students to acquire Textbooks for a semester at a low price. Students benefit from a lower cost upfront, FREE returns, 2day Student Prime Shipping, and is backed by the same world-class customer service Amazon provides today. Recently we launched Musical Instrument rentals on Amazon. Building on this success, we plan to expand as the Rentals Platform for Amazon across multiple product categories and scale to support rapidly growing business goals. Along the way we will also enable new customer features, such as try before you buy an item, that will change the way customers shop at Amazon. We are seeking a self-directed, business savvy, growth-oriented and respected TPM with the capability and passion to drive the best solutions. Experience with Retail Ordering, logistics and/or workflow management systems and/or digital asset management systems would be a strong plus.

5+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry
3+ years of coding experience in Java, C++, and Perl
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications
A firsthand working knowledge of current web technologies
Experience with business applications such as Word, Excel and Project
Masters Degree in Computer Sciences or Business Administration
Passion to make things better and resourceful, solutions-based approach to achieve it
Ability to able to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders
Synthesize requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines. This will include writing detailed functional and test specification, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features
Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills
Familiarity with web services, multi-tiered systems, workflow modeling, and enterprise application integration
