Cisco is looking for a Senior Storage Engineer who can Establish, assure, and worked closely with service providers to align to Service and Operating Level Agreements.
What You'll Do
Cisco IT is looking for you, a Senior Storage Engineer, to join our Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS) team. You will be responsible to design storage infrastructure services that are always on, robust, and self-healing in a hybrid cloud environment. This role involves multiple storage environments distributed globally with a focus on automation, self-healing capabilities, service and storage efficiencies. Responsibilities include:
Manage storage services hosted in the on-premise data centers.
Automate every possible process to enable user self-service and system self-healing
Monitor and tune storage infrastructure & requirements
Engage with storage vendors, to configure and optimize storage, solve problems to determine the root cause of future cause avoidance
Evaluate vendor proposals for purchases of hardware, software, and technical services to assure alignment to technical specifications
Capacity Management ‚?? Automate monitoring and report on storage usage and trends to perform capacity plan accordingly
Storage Lifecycle Management
Establish, assure, and worked closely with service providers to align to Service and Operating Level Agreements
Provide Storage Documentation to include Infrastructure Architecture, Configuration and run books
Who You'll Work With
When you work with us, you‚??ll be part of an infrastructure DevOps team passionate about automating and modernizing Cisco IT platform 2 (private cloud running on enterprise storage ‚?? NetApp, EMC with VMWare virtualization and bare metal servers). This team is comprised of Architects, Design Engineers, SME's and software developers organized in agile teams with daily or weekly scrum meetings using JIRA as a tool to track all activities with scrum or Kanban approach.

You have a positive relationship, communication, collaboration and ownership skills. You can project manage based on priorities and are able to lead/guide junior members. You plan, design, document, communicate and lead global initiatives & deployment. You have experience in supporting large global enterprise customers and work well across large functional teams. In addition, you have the ability to translate business requirements into technology requirements & solutions.
Minimum qualifications include:
10+ years of experience in designing and supporting enterprise storage with growing responsibilities
Extensive storage knowledge and experience with NAS, SAN, and Software-Defined Storage in an enterprise private/hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Programming (e.g. python) and scripting & automation skills using API.
Experience with agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
Experience working with NetApp C-Mode and other enterprise storage solutions.
Experienced in Linux administration with SAN and NAS storage.
Experience with running storage systems that support virtualization (i.e. VMWare)
Extensive troubleshooting skills with NetApp, EMC, and MDS
Understanding of database design & integration with storage systems
Foundational knowledge of monitoring tools and threshold alerting
