American Express is seeking a Business Analyst who is proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

Job Description

The candidate would be placed in a Decision Science role and would be required to work in Amex Advance/Performance marketing. The candidate would be mainly responsible for generation & visualization of insights coming from Amex Advance Models.

  • Basic idea machine learning and how predictive modeling works.
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Experience working with Databases/DB languages (SQL, MySql, NoSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Experience working with Java for server-side processes.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • knowledge of Package Managers (npm, Bower, etc.)
  • Experience with any MVC Framework (Angular, Backbone, etc.) is a plus

Minimum Qualifications
Past Experience:
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience Preferred: Experience in online commerce analytics/marketing. Experience of analysis/modeling of digital data

Academic Background:
Post Graduate in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/ Engineering/Management

Functional Skills/Capabilities:
Expertise in Coding, Algorithm o Unsupervised and supervised techniques: Active learning, transfer learning, neural models, Decision trees, reinforcement learning, graphical models, Gaussian processes, Bayesian models, map Reduce techniques

Technical Skills/Capabilities:
o R, Python, C, C++, Java, SAS, SQL o Hive, Pyspark o Advanced Statistical Techniques: Gini, Concordance, FScore
