Cisco is seeking a Software Engineer who has strong programming skills and is passionate about both building and running applications.
We are building the future of cloud-delivered security at Cisco. Our team is responsible for the development and operations of security applications built on the Cisco Umbrella platform. Our cloud security services are mission-critical to the success of the next evolution of Cisco Security. Our product is the Security Internet Gateway, a new security paradigm using cloud engineering to change the way security is managed and delivered.
You have a strong interest in developing cloud-native solutions to network and security problems
You have strong programming skills and are passionate about both building and running applications
You are a natural problem-solver and trouble-shooter
You have the ability to think creatively and are self-motivated
You have loved working together as a team and have a desire to speak up and share ideas
You have an engineering degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years of software development experience
You have are passionate about:
Linux internals and the open-source stack
Networking, routing/switching, L3/L4, TCP/IP
Additional Desirable Knowledge:
Experience with Python, Golang, Bash, and Linux
Security products such as firewalls, proxies, inspection engines, classification engines
Continuous integration and continuous deployment
Agile practices and iterative development
